An 11-week intensive study program where students are fully immersed in the language and culture of China. Students study three hours of ability-tailored Mandarin Chinese classes per day, five days a week, for a total of 165 hours of Mandarin Chinese language training. This is similar to taking three semesters of Mandarin Chinese training at an American University.

Each student will be placed in classes based on their proficiency in the Chinese language. A Chinese language placement test will be administered when you apply. Alternately, if a student already has experience in a Chinese language training program an assessment may be done based on work already completed.

Besides the core classes, every single student will have the opportunity to join us in our cultural activities and local tours. You can try your hand at ancient Chinese calligraphy, practice wushu with a kung-fu master, visit local historical sites, and enjoy the earthy beauty of the Manchurian countryside surrounding Shenyang.

Our Academic Term Intensive Chinese Study Program includes the following:

• Core Courses - 15 hours per week of intensive Mandarin Chinese study

• Study Materials - All textbooks and materials used in classes.

• Accommodations (optional) – Shared or single apartments, Chinese family homestay, or hotel. It’s up to you! The standard Academic Term package includes 85 days of housing, but can be extended at request.

• Sightseeing and activities - All local Langston Chinese activities and sightseeing tours are free for this program.

• Transportation - Transportation for both arrival and departure, as well as for all activities and sightseeing that we provide outside of our center.

• 24 hour support - Support staff are available 24 hours a day to help with any problems or emergencies.

• Fall - September 14th, 2009 to December 7th, 2009.

• Winter - January 4th, 2010 to March 29th, 2010.

• Spring - April 6th, 2010 to June 25th, 2010.
